Yahoo! We Made It (continued)

Subject: Can't get listed. Please help. (internetbrothers.com)
Hello Support,
I have submitted my web site to your U.S. directory three times since April of
this year, and apparently haven't touched the right nerve. My website address is:
http://internetbrothers.com
I understand you are extremely busy and may have accidentally overlooked my
submissions. The dates were 4/5/99, 6/3/99, and 7/25/99. I do have a quality
web site that has received several Top 100 awards and many compliments from
various sources.
Please consider internetbrothers.com for your fine web site directory. If I need
to resubmit, please let me know, and I will be happy to comply. If you have any
questions, please don't hesitate to contact me. Thank you for your time and
attention. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Child's Play You Say
Well yes, and no. Anyone can write a letter
like this. It isn't that difficult to be polite and cordial. There are a few key
points to consider, however. It is very important to have the exact dates available
that you made your online submissions. The tech. support folks will use those to
go through their records and categorize your site. They want to make sure you
aren't spamming them. They want to retrieve the site description you submitted.
Most of all, they want to be helpful. (Brooklyn Bridge)
If your site has received
recognition or notoriety, don't be afraid to brag about it. One of the reasons
Yahoo! is becoming more selective is because they are going for quality rather
than quantity. Space out your submission attempts by a month to six weeks. If you
don't live in the United States, submit to the appropriate
geographical Yahoo! They take that into account. This isn't Chinese checkers, it's
the new web marketplace.
Most importantly,
don't give up. We almost did. Thanks to that timely reminder from Michael Wong,
we gave it another shot. So far it is paying off handsomely.
